The Life and Teachings of Jesus as Recorded in the Bible
Every account of Jesus gives us a window into how he responded to the struggles and opportunities of life, and what we can learn from his wisdom. From a faith perspective, Jesus' life, death, and resurrection bring hope, because his grace and mercy point us toward abundant life.
The Miracles of Jesus
Throughout his ministry, Jesus performed many miracles. His physical healings are well-known, like healing the man with leprosy in Luke 5:12-14. But he also brought spiritual healing, like his conversation with the Samaritan woman in John 4:4-42. He performed miracles of nature too, calming a storm at sea and multiplying food to feed a large crowd. All of these were signs of his ability to bring new life and hope to those who trusted in him.
The Parables of Jesus
Many of Jesus' teachings come in the form of parables. One of the most well-known is the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), where Jesus teaches us to show mercy and compassion to those in need, even if they come from a different background. Other parables, like the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32) and the Sower (Luke 8:4-8), teach us to show love to those who have made wrong choices and to stay faithful no matter the circumstances.
